When your big day finally arrives, there’s only one thing that can be worse than having your jilted ex-boyfriend show up at your wedding. And that is if your fiancé’s ex shows up at the venue. An Indonesian woman experienced exactly this.
20-year-old Nur Khusnul Kotimah from Lombok Tengah was all set to marry Korik Akbar who is also 20. However, his ex-girlfriend showed up at the event. To make matters worse, the guy agreed to marry his ex-girlfriend, 21-year-old Yunita Ruri as well.
“My husband’s ex-girlfriend found out about our plans to get married through social media, as many friends were congratulating us. Because of that, she asked to be his wife too,” Nur said, reports Times Now News.
Although Nur was shocked, she went through with her wedding as they were tying the knot following the Merariq ritual. This usually includes the dulhan being ‘kidnapped’ by the dulha and brought to his home, (with full approval from her family).
It was at Korik’s house that the other woman arrived and asked that he marry her too. Stunned by his double-wedding, the groom said, “I wasn’t expecting it and was shocked. But, upon discussing with the family, I made the decision to marry both the girls. The dowry for both was the same, which is 1.75 million Rupiah (Rs 8,980).”
Nevertheless, he said that he now feels burdened by his decision to wed both the young ladies because he is currently unemployed and they both will be dependent on him.
