Writing letters is a lost art in the digital age. Perhaps this is the reason why we cherish hand-written love notes from when we were younger and the letters our parents stack away in a corner of the closet with a treasure trove of memories. One such letter has surfaced online after being tweeted by industrialist Harsh Goenka.

It was written by former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi to none other than industrialist JRD Tata. Dated July 5, 1973, the typewritten letter is a unique glimpse into their cordial friendship. In the letter, she thanks Tata for gifting her perfumes, reports Times Now News.
“I am thrilled with the perfumes. Thank you so much. I don’t normally use perfumes and am so cut off from the ‘chic’ world that I do not even know these, but will certainly experiment with them,” the former PM wrote in the letter.
“It was good to see you. Please do not hesitate to write or to come and see me when you want to convey any views — favourable or critical,” she concludes sending good wishes to Tata as well as his wife.
