Gujarat, which is otherwise famous for Dhokla, Mahatma Gandhi and Chai (thanks to Modi Ji), is now gaining popularity for a unique competition called ‘What The Fart’. It’s a farting contest, where the strongest, loudest and longest fart will win a reward!

The brainchild of Gujarati singer Yatin Sangoi and his partner Mul Sanghvi, the fart competition comes with an idea of normalizing the natural human body process. ‘Nature’s call’ you see!

Yatin, who is looking for India’s first ‘pad’shah through the competition revealed where he got this out-of-the-box idea from. He told Hindustan Times,

“About 25 days back I was watching a movie with my family when I farted loudly and everyone laughed. That’s when I thought if there’s a competition, I could be a winner. However, there are none in India.”

“I discussed with my friends and along with one of them decided to stage an event,” he added.

The contest will be divided into three different categories – longest, loudest, and musical. Each participant will have 60 seconds to showcase their farting skills. Three people will be chosen as winners who will receive rewards between Rs 5000 and Rs 15000. The competition will be judged by a stand-up comedian Devang Raval and a local doctor may join him too.
