If you are an Indian woman, it is a given that you would get married, have children, and start a family of your own. The idea that women can choose not to marry and not have kids appears to many as a bizarre concept.
And Indian women online have been talking about exactly that. Many took to Reddit to reveal the kind of hostility and judgement they faced from their family, friends, relatives, and society at large when they expressed the desire to not have kids.
From having been said that their life would be “meaningless” without children to being forced to conceive against their will, some women alleged that society looks at them like “baby-making machines” and others revealed how they convinced the people around them to respect their decision.
