If I may generalise a bit, Indian families have certain traits which make them different from other families. For example, our parents don’t say “I am sorry” or “Well done”. Instead, they have certain code words they use. It is their way of showing affection.
And people online have been revealing the various code words their Indian parents use instead of saying “I love you”. From sending ‘Good Morning’ messages on WhatsApp to asking “Khana kha liya?”, here’s what people revealed:
Desi parents don't say 'I love you' but instead send Whatsapp messages that say 'Hard work is the key to success. Good morning.' and I think that's beautiful ❤️

Hahaha yes. My Dad’s daily routine is to send us a picture of fresh blooms from their garden and top it with a good morning message❤️!

Also Desi parents don’t just say ki ‘Tu kisi kaam ka nahi hai’ . They just randomly compare u with Sharma ji ka ladka and the message is well conveyed

Actually I think the unanimous code for 'I love you' ( across languages and regions) are the words 'खाना खाया/ have you eaten ?' 💙 https://t.co/rorjAi4fSb

For moms it’s “Bablu, Pathla ho gaya” with a sad face. Meanwhile Bablu just about managed to scrape into overweight category on BMI index after months of dieting and exercise.
