The beautiful Pacific Palisades property was purchased for $8.55 million (Rs 72.04 crore approx), and before moving in, Anita and her family performed a traditional ‘puja’ ceremony. The ceremony was meant to bless the space and honour the memory of Matthew Perry.

In an Instagram post, Anita shared pictures from the special day, explaining that, as a Hindu, she believes in blessing any new home. She described the ceremony as a way to bring positive energy to the space.

“As a real estate developer myself, I believe every property has a history that we may or may not know about, and every home carries the energy that the current owner brings to it. I am Hindu, and it’s customary to do a blessing and prayer anytime you buy a new home. We were so lucky to have our Panditji from Arizona come to the house to do the blessing. We chose to honour the positive aspects of the previous owner’s life, his immense talent, and all the joy he brought to so many people. The decision to purchase the home had nothing to do with the previous owner, just our love of the home,” she wrote.

As a film producer, Anita Verma-Lillian founded Camelback Productions, a company focused on increasing South Asian representation in film. Her journey into real estate was inspired by her parents, Kuldip and Binu Verma, who emigrated from India and built Vermaland, one of Arizona’s largest land banking companies.

Following their example, Anita launched her own venture, Arizona Land Consulting, which has made her a well-known real estate consultant in Arizona. Alongside running her own company, she also serves as the Marketing Director for Vermaland.
