Ali also happens to be a Padma Shri winner from the Thrissur district of Kerala and is the Chairman and Managing Director of LuLu Group International. But his recent remarkable transformation of the Scotland Yard, the former headquarters of Metropolitan Police, is creating buzz online.

In a £75 million (Rs. 681 crores) makeover, the 63-year-old has converted the iconic building into a luxury five-star hotel of your dreams. The hotel boasts of 153 extravagant rooms and some of the suites offer views of Westminster Abbey, Nelson’s Column and Buckingham Palace.

The room tariffs are expected to go up to a staggering £10,000 (Rs. 9 lakh) a night. To add to it, there is a whiskey bar, a tea parlor, and a ballroom which will be operated by the Hyatt Group.

However, even though the building has been renovated, the place hasn’t lost its old charm. They have retained the history of the hotel and certain features take you back to the criminals who once called it home.

Old police cells have been transformed into meeting rooms and workspace areas which can be given on rent.

According to Daily Mail, one of the main attractions of the hotel is the large chandelier made up of glass shards. It refers to the Forty Elephants, a gang of female thieves, who thrived in the 19th century and used to steal goods by smashing jewelry shop windows!

Woah. Looks like heaven on earth for the rich, doesn’t it?
