Indian Army Pays Heartfelt Tribute To 9-YO Service Dog, ‘Dutch’ Who Passed Away

Dogs are a man’s best friend and our army men are also on occasion accompanied by valiant doggos who are in service of the country. The army has been employing hounds and sniffing dogs to detect bombs and other explosives in addition to drugs. And with the extra love, care and rigorous training, the canine unit is a respected and beloved part of the army.

The Indian army paid a beautiful tribute to the real hero of the nation and shared condolences on his death. A 9-year-old ‘Explosive Detection’ department dog ‘Dutch’was one of the decorated dogs working with the Eastern Command of Indian Army. In a tweet, the Eastern Command of the Indian Army shared heart-breaking pictures of the rites for Dutch. They captioned it:

#ArmyCdrEC condoles the death of ‘Dutch’ a 9 yr old ED dog who died on 11 Sept. He was a  decorated dog of #EasternCommand who was instrumental in identifying IEDs in various CI/CT Ops.  A real hero in service to the nation. #Salute
