India Brings Home 2 Oscars! ‘Naatu Naatu’ & ‘The Elephant Whisperers’ Win Big, See Visuals

All of us desis jumped off our seats when we bagged three nominations at the Oscar awards this year. Bollywood actor Deepika Padukone also made us proud by being one of the presenters in this year’s Oscars a.k.a the 95th Academy Awards.

Well, the moment that we have been waiting for with bated breath has arrived. In fact, it’s the best one for Indian artists as Guneet Monga’s ‘The Elephant Whisperers’ won the coveted award for the ‘Best Documentary Short Film’ category.

Moreover, the song ‘Naatu Naatu’ from the Telugu movie ‘RRR’ won the trophy for ‘Best Original Song’.

The award was lifted by the composer of the chartbuster song M. M. Keeravani and lyricist Chandrabose. This is what they said while receiving the dream award.

Before the winner for the ‘Best Song’ category was formally announced, singers Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava performed the song on the Academy Awards stage which was received with roaring applause from the crowd.

The song was nominated alongside Applause (Tell It Like a Woman), Hold My Hand (Top Gun Maverick), Lift Me Up (Black Pather Wakanda Forever), and This is a Life (Everything Everywhere All at Once).

This is the historical moment the team of ‘RRR’ has been waiting for.

The Oscar for ‘Best Documentary Short Film’ goes to ‘The Elephant Whisperers’.

Desis online were on the moon upon receiving the awards which is considered the American dream. They flooded Twitter with congratulatory messages.

Look at the stars, Ram Charan and N.T. Rama Rao Jr., talk about making waves in the film industry with ‘RRR’.
