India and Pakistan cricket matches are always a spectacle, glueing die-hard fans from both nations to their screens. The latest T20 World Cup encounter in New York was no different, and it delivered another thrilling chapter in this fierce rivalry. India pulled off another dramatic victory over Pakistan. This time, Jasprit Bumrah’s phenomenal bowling saved the day. India defended a tiny target of 120 and beat Pakistan by six runs at Nassau County Stadium, reported Hindustan Times.
Fans dug deep and paid off their wallets to watch the showdown in New York. Despite the sky-high ticket prices, they flocked to the stadium. But it was a heartbreak yet again for Pakistani supporters, who have now seen their team lose to India, yet again. The latest defeat stung even more because Pakistan was in control for most of the game, only to fall short by six runs.
One particularly devastated Pakistani fan sold his tractor to buy a $3000 ticket (around INR 2,50,000/8,40,000 Pakistani Rupees) and was visibly shaken in a post-match interview.
“I have sold my tractor to get a ticket worth USD 3000. When we saw the score of India, we didn’t think that we were going to lose this game. The game was in our hands but after Babar Azam got out, people were disheartened…I congratulate you all,” he said, while Indians cheered for their team surrounding him.
