After 27 Years, India Finally To Host Miss World 2023 Pageant

When Aishwarya Rai Bachchan won the Miss World 1994 crown, the event was hosted in Sun City, South Africa. When Priyanka Chopra was crowned the same title in 2000, it was held in London. And when Manushi Chhillar was crowned Miss World 2017, the event was hosted in China. It was 27 years ago, in 1996, that the prestigious competition was held in India.

And now, after a gap of over two decades, the 71st Miss World 2023 pageant is all set to take place in India towards the end of this year, reported Hindustan Times.

This news was revealed at a press conference that was held in New Delhi recently. Karolina Bielawska, Miss World 2022, and Sini Shetty, Miss India World 2022, accompanied the organisers in the press conference, reported Moneycontrol.

The decision to make India the host country for the pageant “recognises the nation’s rich cultural heritage, its commitment to promoting diversity, and its passion for empowering women.”

“There is so much more to see here, and bringing the whole world here for a month and showing everything that India has to offer is the best idea,” said Karolina Bielawska.

While the exact location and the dates for the competition haven’t been announced yet, it is sure that contestants from over 130 countries will assemble in India to showcase their talent.

How exciting this is! 😀
