Twitter Erupts With Memes After India ‘Accidentally’ Fires A Missile At Pakistan

Earlier this week, a missile was “mistakenly” fired at Pakistan from India. The Defence Ministry stated that it was due to a “technical malfunction” and the incident was “deeply regrettable”, reported NDTV.

The Defence Ministry said in a statement, “On 9 March 2022, in the course of routine maintenance, a technical malfunction led to the accidental firing of a missile. The Government of India has taken a serious view and ordered a high-level Court of Enquiry. It is learnt that the missile landed in an area of Pakistan. While the incident is deeply regrettable, it is also a matter of relief that there has been no loss of life due to the accident.”

Pakistan claimed that the missile flew 100 km inside their airspace. It allegedly flew at an altitude of 40,000 feet and at 3-times the speed of sound. It was claimed that there was no warhead on the missile and hence, it didn’t detonate. According to BBC, Pakistan has called for an investigation into the incident and warned India “to be mindful of the unpleasant consequences of such negligence and take effective measures to avoid the recurrence of such violations in future”.

However, as soon as the news grabbed headlines, Twitter broke into a meme-fest. Several people responded to the incident by making and sharing hilarious memes. Have a look:

That was a close one for India!
