On Sunday, May 15, India etched history as it lifted its first-ever Thomas Cup in Thailand. The Indian badminton team beat the 14-time champions Indonesia by 3-0 and lifted the cup in an incredible victory.

According to India Today, India had never qualified for the finals of the Thomas Cup in 73 years. India is now the 6th nation after China, Indonesia, Japan, Denmark, and Malaysia to win the Thomas Cup title.
