I’ve always wanted a twin. Watching other twins would turn me green with jealousy. With all the crap I used to pull off being a kid, the thought of having a partner in crime seemed like the best deal in the world. Luckily for my mom, I don’t and the house was never burned down. But as I grew up, I realised having a twin isn’t as peachy as it seems. At least not for me. Often times, it’s like having a carbon copy of yourself who invariably has a say in what happens in your life.
However, that’s just me. For those who did, in fact, grow up with one, a life without a twin can seem unnatural. And cherishing the twin life can become a way of life.
Like these twin sisters who married a set of twin brothers while a set of twin brothers ordained the ceremony.
Identical twin sisters, 32-year-old Brittany and Briana have always dreamt of marrying identical twins. Their dreams came true when they married identical twin brothers Josh and Jeremy in a ceremony under the guidance of identical twin ministers.
Speaking to People, Briana says:
“It’s really been a fairy tale come true. Marrying twins is something that’s very important to us. Even when we were little girls I can remember being in kindergarten, knowing that that is what we saw for ourselves.”
On Saturday, the twin sisters wed the twin brothers at the 2018 Twins Days Festival in Twinsburg, Ohio where incidentally, they met for the first time.
While Briana calls the wedding a “double fairytale”, Brittany admits that they knew the chances were scarce that they would ever find identical twins to marry:
“We knew that the chances were incredibly scarce. The stars had to align for our dreams to come true. I get to marry the man of my dreams and at the same time I get to look over next to me and see my twin sister marrying the man of her dreams.”
The sisters have always seen themselves as two halves of a whole. They’ve always dressed alike, double dated, and when it came to planning their wedding, it was smooth as anything says, Briana:
“A lot of the wedding planning was extremely fun and even peaceful for Brittany and I to do together because we have the same taste. We had the same vision of what our double wedding day would look like. We work well together and I would say the hardest part is planning everything across state lines because none of us live in Twinsburg, Ohio.”
As for their twin husbands, they say the men have also always dreamt of dating identical twin sisters. They had in fact sworn to never marry unless they found identical twin girls who matched up well with them. The twin couples are also really excited about having kids who will technically be genetical siblings. It’ll be like having two moms and two dads say the excited brides.
Oh and according to this tweet, the happy newlyweds are all going to live in the same house together:
