Hyderabad Couple Becomes The Parents Of Smallest Baby In All Of South East Asia

Human reproduction is such a complicated process yet we never stop to think about it. Right from the start till the baby takes shape in the mother’s womb, every single step is so intricate that it’s almost mind-boggling. And since it’s rare for an anomaly to occur, most parents aren’t prepared to deal with it. However, thanks to some talented doctors, a couple in Hyderabad were able to give birth to an unique baby.

According to India.com, a hospital in Hyderabad recently announced that a couple had given birth to the smallest baby in all of South East Asia.

The little girl, who’s named Cherry was only 375 grams and of 25 weeks when she was born at Rainbow Children’s Hospital in Hyderabad. She was only 20 cms in length and fitted in the palm.

The hospital, along with the parents, held a huge press conference to announce Cherry’s arrival because it’s very rare for anyone of her size to survive childbirth.

The doctors said that the baby was born premature and nearly 4 months earlier than the expected day. Experts said that the children involved in such cases have a slim 0.5% chance of survival. That’s because they’re prone to various complications and dysfunction of bodily organs. But thanks to Rainbow Hospitals’ super team, Cherry pulled through.

Cherry’s parents were delighted to hold their baby in their arms and the hospital staff was equally glad to share the moments after her birth.

1. The average size of a newborn is 50-45.7 cms whereas Cherry was 20 cms.

2. FYI, the average weight of a newborn is 2.5-4.5 kg but Cherry was 375 grams!

3. And there’s the happy parents and the doctors who made this possible.

This is truly a special occasion for these parents as well as for India. Considering how Cherry’s birth has gone well, we hope that she’ll go onto lead a healthy life with her parents and forever be thankful for the work that Rainbow Hospital has done.
