A 10th Pass Man From Hyderabad Invents A ‘Smart’ Alcohol Detector

Talent and knowledge never confine to textbooks. Knowledge is all about observing, understanding, learning and then implementing it into the betterment of our day-to-day life. You don’t always need an academic degree or diploma to prove your intelligence to the world.

Likewise, a few days back the news of a 75-YO Bengaluru woman who uses solar energy to grill corn left the internet buzzing with wonder and pride. Another corn seller from the same city hit the headlines years back for his innovative way of fanning the coal. His discovery of makeshift fan + light won hearts back then!

Sai Teja from Hyderabad, who could not pursue education after tenth class, has successfully proven the above-mentioned statements right. The 22-year-old man has invented a ‘smart’ alcohol detector that detects alcohol consumption. The device also restricts the vehicle’s engine once the driver is detected positive.

Matching up to the level of ultra-modern ‘smart’ devices that the world is obsessing over, the device also sends an SMS alert to the configured mobile numbers.

“I stopped studying after 10th class due to some reasons, but was interested in electrons and use to gain knowledge from the internet.” Sai told ANI.

“Learned to code from internet and invented a new alcohol detector which restricts the vehicle engine to start if the driver has consumed more than 30 percent of alcohol,” he continued.

Talking further about the device, Sai went on reveal that it took him only 15 days to invent the machine. The device which costs Rs. 2,500 is surely is a must-have for our nation’s police. This would make the late night patrolling way smoother and easier for the force, isn’t it?
