Woman Shares How Her Husband Invited Her Parents To Live With Them & Took Care Of Them

In a patriarchal society, it’s normal for women to leave their childhood home and family and start living with her husband’s family immediately after the wedding.

While some brides might have other siblings to take care of the parents, some are left with no option other than to leave their elderly parents alone post their wedding.

This woman was also caught in this complicated situation. However, it was her supportive husband who stepped up and invited her parents to stay with them.

In a LinkedIn post, Dipinty Ghosal shared how her husband insisted her parents stay with them and ensured her that everything would be fine.

Sharing more about it, she wrote, “When I got married in 2019, my husband invited my parents to stay with us.”

“They were all alone, my father was diabetic, and had no one to take care of him. While I was hesitant that living with them would cause friction, my husband held a firm belief that a little bit of love and understanding could cause wonders.”

Ghosal went on to share how even after she left for the US, her husband chose to stay with her parents and figure things out for them.

“When I left for the US last year, I wanted him to travel with me. However, his first reaction was – “Why don’t you go and get things in order there, while I do the same for Mom and Dad here. We can then figure things out in a year.” He spent the next year renovating our house, taking care of them, and making sure that they were always comfortable.”

Today, she is proud and in awe of her husband who handled her dilemma with so much concern and loved her family equally.

“Today, when I look at him, all I feel is awe and deep respect. This #womensday let us also celebrate men who understand the true meaning of #feminism and #equality , who strive hard to support the dreams and ambitions of their partners, who know how to love unconditionally, and who are the torch bearers of #breakthebias.”

People online lauded this wonderful man and said, ‘they don’t make people like him anymore.’

Some alleged that women today don’t do this for their husband’s family, as expected of them.

This man rightly commented that society should be appreciative of both men and women doing so.

And since people slammed Ghosal for being ‘self-centered’, a woman said this:

Be it a man or woman, leaving parents alone is hard for both especially when they have no one to look after them. And rightly said, both the partners should be accepting of each other’s parents and treat them equally.

Cheers to this man for setting the right example.
