The worldwide coronavirus lockdown is making people try their hand at weird things. From donning a unicorn costume to walk pets to taking a virtual flight to their favorite holiday destination, people are doing the unimaginable. In fact, couples are also tying the knot on video calls and replacing guests with cardboard cutouts at their wedding.
If this wasn’t enough, a man gave up on his wife who was stranded at her parents’ home and married his girlfriend, reports Times Now. The incident took place in Patna, Bihar.
Dhiraj Kumar, a resident of Dheeraj Kumar Paliganj block, asked his wife, Gudiya Devi who has gone to visit her parents at Dulhin to immediately return home. Devi, however, told him that it is impossible to travel amid lockdown due to the unavailability of any public transport, reports Gulf News. Angered by this, Dheeraj allegedly married his girlfriend who lives in the same block and brought her home.
Devi lodged a complaint against her husband as soon she learned about his unjust act. He was immediately arrested and sent to jail after Devi’s complaint, confirmed a police officer. Devi and Dheeraj also have a kid together.
The incident is both strange and shameful. Lockdown is frustrating but we need to keep patience and be sane at least for the sake of our health and relationships.
