When you have spent a major part of your life with someone you love, it’s devastating and painful to continue without them post their demise. Hence, people often try to keep them alive in their memories or in some cases, by installing a statue of their beloved at home.
Some time ago, a businessman had installed a life-size statue of his late wife in the foyer of the home she always dreamt of owning. Following suit, this 74-year-old husband from Karnataka also installed his wife’s life-size fibre figurine in her memory, reported The Hindu.
Tamil Nadu: Sethuraman, a businessman from Madurai unveiled a statue of his wife,Pitchaimaniammal,at his home after 30 days of her demise.

C. Sethuraman, an entrepreneur from Mela Ponnagaram wanted to always feel the presence of his wife S. Pichaimani, 67, who died of a heart attack on August 10. Sethuraman who has been married to Pichaimani for 48 years says that she was his confidante, his best friend.
“I quit my government job as a health inspector to venture into the real estate business. Through the years, I had faced financial losses several times. But she was always there with me. She was more like my best friend,” he says.
“After I came to know that a businessman in Karnataka had installed a statue for his deceased wife, I was inspired to follow suit. It is guaranteed that the statue will stay intact for many decades if it is kept indoors,” he added.
The statue of Pichaimani, that took sculptors in Madurai around 25 days to complete, has been installed at the living room of Sethuraman’s house along with her enormous portrait.
“The portrait is placed in such a manner that the moment I open the door of the living room, my wife’s portrait will be visible. It is to symbolise that my wife still opens the door for me,” he added.
Here’s how people reacted to their real-life love story:

Sethuraman's love for his wife expressed by unveiling a statue of his wife, at his home, after 30 days of her demise is more better than Shahjahan expressing his love for Mumtaz by building Taj Mahal.
