Srinivas Murthy, 57, from Karnataka’s Koppal lost his loving wife in a car accident years ago, but he made sure that she attended the housewarming ceremony of their Bungalow she had always dreamt of.
The businessman didn’t know how to include his late wife in the festivities of their newly-constructed house, hence, he decided to install her life-size silicon statue at the foyer of their home, reports News18.
“I wanted to do something special in memory of my wife. She died three years ago in a car accident,” Srinivas Murthy said to The News Minute. He further narrated how his wife MVK Madhavi was travelling to Tirupati with their two daughters when she met with a fatal accident. She died on the spot.
However, it wasn’t easy for Srinivas to come up with this idea. It was only after meeting with an architect, Mahesh Rangannadavaru, on one of his business trips that he came up with this plan. The architect then got him in touch with Gombe Mane, popular toymakers in Bengaluru city to make his dream a reality.
“Mahesh told me that Gombe Mane had also done some work for Tontadarya Mutt in Gadag. I don’t regret it at all. This is the kind of gesture I was looking for. I placed the order about a year ago. I gave them several pictures of my wife. She looks so real,” Srinivas quoted.
When the guests arrived at their bungalow, they were pleasantly surprised at seeing Madhavi sitting atop a sofa at the entrance of the house. Decked in a pink saree and gold jewellery, she greeted all her guests with a smile on her face that never faded.
“Everyone was so surprised. They all believed for a few seconds that it could actually be my wife. It was my wife’s dream to construct a bungalow. Now she is not there to live in it. The statue is a way to reinforce that she is still here,” he added.
People online were taken aback on seeing the statue that looked real. Here’s how they reacted:
In all three photos you will notice one thing common, the person on the sofa sits with the same expression. A man in Karnataka installed a wax statue of his beloved wife, who was killed in a road accident years ago. He wanted her presence to be felt during their house warming. ❤ pic.twitter.com/qIFpjPC8Kp

It is heartwarming and painful at the same time to see how Srinivas made every possible effort to bring his wife back into their lives. These are tales that make us believe in true love.
