But 51-year-old Paul Nixon from Texas dared to do so and how!
He forged a notary’s signature on paperwork seeking a divorce from his wife without telling her. He submitted the papers to Harris County District Courtroom in Houston, reports Metro.
Seeing that the papers were in order, the judge of the court granted Nixon his divorce. But later on, when his wife discovered the fraud, she filed a complaint with the police. Cops investigated the matter and found that the papers Nixon had submitted were fake. He is currently going through aggravated perjury charges over the alleged ruse.
As a punishment, the judge also reinstated his marriage. His wife has not yet made a statement on whether she would like to continue with the marriage or file divorce proceedings to end her marriage with Nixon.
