Day 93/100 – Kempegowda International Airport, named after the founder of Bengaluru, is located about 40 kms north of the city. It was opened in May 2008 and is spread over 4000 acres. It is the third busiest airport in the country and was recently expanded in 2013, with enhanced exteriors and facilities. It is connected to the city by a six-lane flyover that has largely helped reduce travel time. There are regular AC Volvo buses that ply from the airport to most parts of the city. Lastly, it is always a delight to step out of the airport and be greeted by the huge, fluttering Indian flag 🇮🇳😃 #100daysofbangalorebychica #the100dayproject #illustration #bangalore #travel @blrairport

Day 90/100 – Kitsch Mandi is an art+craft+design bazaar that aims to promote creative entrepreneurs. The flea market that is held once every few weeks at @pebble_blr brings together a bunch of talented folks for a fun experience of art, music, shopping stalls, live-painting and workshops. I had showcased my products at this event for the very first time and I loved the vibe. They have a great team that creates really cool decor for every event. The green and intimate space around the banyan tree, warm and helpful organisers and great music set it apart from the other festivals in the city. Make sure you attend the next one and drop in to say hi 🙂 #100daysofbangalorebychica #the100dayproject #bangalore #illustration #kitschmandi

Day 85/100 – Atta Galatta is a unique bookstore and performance space in Koramangala. ‘Atta’ is the Kannada word for play and the Hindi word for dough and ‘Galatta’ refers to a racket; the name Atta Galatta refers to fun and games, amidst the city. Founded by Subodh Sankar and Lalitha Lakshmi, who were tired of their IT and advertising professions respectively, it aims at reviving regional language reading. The interiors are warm and welcoming with red brick walls and twisting columns of brick. They have books in various Indian languages like Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi and Bengali as well as English. The first floor of the store is reserved for frequent events like plays, workshops and film screenings. They also serve a limited menu of drinks and snacks that are perfect to accompany a book. #100daysofbangalorebychica #the100dayproject #bangalore #illustration

Day 83/100 – Rouge Elephant is a small, outdoor restaurant, with two branches in Ulsoor and Basavangudi. The latter outlet is set in the middle of a nursery, making for great ambience in the daytime. Situated in a beautiful colonial bungalow, it has a Mangalore-tile covered isle that guides you to an al-fresco garden seating area. The seating is limited so it's better to get there early. It shares its premises with a small store called Ambara that sells vintage artifacts, clothes etc. The place has delicious, freshly cooked food and if the owner is around, do consult him for options that aren't on the menu. A great place for a weekend brunch 🙂 #100daysofbangalorebychica #the100dayproject #bangalore #illustration @rogueelephant.blr

Day 78/100 – Thindi Beedi, also known as Food Street/Khao Galli, in VV Puram, opens shop once the sun starts to set. It is an entire lane filled with the best kind of street food you can imagine. There are numerous stalls selling chaat, thatte idli, pav bhaji, paddu, curd kodu balle, butter gulkand ice cream salad and many other delicacies. It's best to go there in a large group so that you get to taste a bit of everything. It is so fascinating to watch the vendors pouring ghee directly from packets onto the tavas. The aromas all around are irresistible. My fav are the crispy ghee dosas and the holige, also dripping with ghee 😍 Go there around 7pm, before the crowd begins to pour in and enjoy a gastronomic evening !! #100daysofbangalorebychica #the100dayproject #bangalore #illustration

Day 77/100 – Nandi Hills is an ancient hill fortress and the quickest getaway from the city. It is famous for its breathtaking scenic beauty, especially the view of a sea of clouds below you. The ideal plan is to leave the city by 4am to reach the hilltop for sunrise. There are stalls at the top that serve tea/coffee and snacks and there are even some government bungalows for staying overnight. At the foot of Nandi Hills is the famous Bhoga Nandishwara temple devoted to Lord Shiva. One of the oldest temples in Karnataka, it is constructed in Dravidian style and houses a large indoor pond with rock-cut steps. A must-visit for all 🙂 #100daysofbangalorebychica #the100dayproject #bangalore #illustration
