Hrithik Roshan Talks About His Favourite Teacher & How He Helped Him Overcome His Weakness

We’ve grown up hearing our school teachers say, “Why are you making so much noise, is this a classroom or a fish market?” At that time, we didn’t like it. But now that we’re older, we understand that we wouldn’t be where we are today if not for our teachers. Not just the ones in school, also those that taught us things outside of the syllabus.

Which is why it is not surprising to see even Bollywood celebrate them with movies like Black, Chak De! India, Taare Zameen Par and more recently Super 30. The film about Anand Kumar and his personal institute for IIT-JEE aspirants had Hrithik Roshan in the lead role.

Before the movie released, Hrithik shared this note appreciating and thanking teachers all over the country for their tremendous contribution to society.

On the occasion of Teachers’ Day, he further spoke about their value in an interview with DNA India. The actor opened up about his favourite teacher who helped him with his stammer by saying,

“I don’t remember having a favourite teacher in school, but my speech therapist Dr. Oza comes to my mind. He was the first person who understood my weaknesses and helped me work on it.”

He further added,

“While portraying Anand Kumar and working on Super 30, I understood more and more about the importance of a teacher. A good guru has the power to transform lives for the better. The value they add to a person’s life is unimaginable. And the testimony to this is hundreds of years old. Even kings would bow down to their teachers.”

Do you have a favourite teacher too? An English teacher who introduced you to the world of Harry Potter, an aunt who taught you how to make the world’s yummiest chocolate cake or your father who educated you on the basics of finance? Tell us.
