Intelligent people read the news. Smart people understand that whatever you read on the news isn’t always true. There is a sea of misinformation that is often spread by social media accounts and people in general which somehow make headlines. Oftentimes, people don’t fact-check things they read on the internet, which can at times be dangerous.
So, Hrithik Roshan decided to call out a reputed organisation, India Today, for publishing an article containing details about him and his girlfriend Saba Azad that is allegedly incorrect.
The “exclusive” article was headlined, “A step up! Lovebirds Hrithik Roshan and Saba Azad to move in together soon.”
The writer of this particular article wrote that as per India Today’s “well placed source”, the couple are soon to move in together at an apartment in Mumbai.
“They will be moving in together into an apartment in a building called Mannat in Mumbai. The top two floors of the building are being renovated. And the couple will shift there very soon. Hrithik has spent nearly Rs 100 crore on the two apartments, which are spread over three floors. The Greek God of Bollywood purchased the two apartments for Rs 97.50 crore, which are located near the Juhu-Versova link road. His apartments give an amazing view of the Arabian sea and they are spread over 38,000 sq ft. For the duplex, located on the 15th and 16th floors, the actor paid Rs 67.50 crore. And for the other apartment, he spent nearly Rs 30 crore,” the article read.
Hrithik Roshan took to Twitter to share the article and claim that there is “no truth to this”.
“There is no truth to this. As a public figure, I understand I’ll be under the lens of curiosity, but it’s best if we keep misinformation away, especially in our reportage, which is a responsible job,” he tweeted.

If you think about it, there are innumerable articles on celebrities which aren’t verified and spread misinformation and the average reader won’t even bother to fact-check them. What a shame.
