Desis Give Valuable Advice To 37-YO Housewife Wanting To Restart Her Career & Be Independent

For some people, it can be very frustrating to not have a career or a means of their own income. Having to depend upon another person for financial stability can be tricky, especially for women. In today’s age, it is necessary for a woman to be financially independent and have a career as it contributes to having a sense of self.

Having said that, a 37-year-old Indian housewife took to Reddit to seek advice on restarting her career. She explained how she dropped out of college and hence, doesn’t have a degree. She pursued drama for a couple of years but that didn’t turn into anything fruitful.

“Currently, I am a homemaker, married in a financially sound family but I want to get financially independent somehow. I feel like a complete failure because I don’t have any special skills and it seems a bit too late to start a career, plus who is going to hire me without a degree?” she wrote.

She further expressed her frustration and said that a career will be mental push for her.

“I feel a career would be really helpful for me in long term, in every way – emotionally & financially. I feel extremely frustrated,” she added.

People online responded to her post and flooded the comment section with useful advice. Many suggested taking a short course on a subject which is in demand right now, like coding and copywriting.

They further added how after completing the course, she can take up internship opportunities to gather experience and later apply for a full-fleged job.
