Weird 7-Foot Sea Monster Washes Up On California Beach, Leaves Scientists Baffled

The animal kingdom is a world of its own and its incredible biodiversity will leave you baffled. While scientists and researchers have discovered a major portion of it, there are numerous species of creatures, which remain unexplored and unidentified.

This brings us to the shores of American Riviera, UC Santa Barbara in California, which saw a rare sea monster wash up on the sand, recently.

The weird fish which was found lying on the beach was a massive 7-foot long in size, which is easily bigger than the average human. Researchers arrived at the spot to take a close look at the fish and take pictures and collect tissue samples.

After several days of examination, the fish was identified as a Hoodwinker Sunfish, which is an extremely rare marine animal and was discovered in the year 2014. According to the researchers, this happens to be only the second sighting of the fish after it was spotted in New Zealand about two years ago!

The fish gets its name “Hoodwinker” from its extraordinary ability to stay hidden most of the time. According to the BBC, the major question of concern for the scientists is that how did the fish make it so far away from its home waters. In this case, it was found 12,000 miles from where it is usually found.

Woah! There is nothing more beautiful and stunning than the world of animals.
