In India, if you go to a person who pursued ‘Science’ in classes 11 and 12 and take the name of ‘HC Verma’, a bunch of memories, good and bad, will gush through their minds! His ‘Concepts of Physics’ is a nightmare and a sweet emblem of nostalgia at the same time. For science students, studying from the book was a great task. But funnily, many of them have still kept the books because the man is nothing but a legend.
Which is why when Dr Harish Chandra Verma was conferred with the Padma Shri at the recently held Padma Awards 2020, past and present students who have studied or are studying the ‘Concepts of Physics’, were left ecstatic.
