While Pakistan continues its earnest attempts of persuading India for a bilateral series between the two nations, the hopes for the same seems to be dwindling with time. Following the BCCI’s resolution of not engaging themselves in bilateral ties with Pakistan, the PCB is ready to pitch their compensation claim against the board to the ICC.

However, the tomfoolery of certain Pakistani cricketers is striking blows to PCB’s hopes of uniting the two teams on the 22 yards. It all started with veteran cricketer Shahid Afridi’s tweet on the ‘Indian occupied Kashmir’ which drew raging comebacks from his Indian counterparts.

Surprisingly, now we have another act of lunacy, with youngster Hasan Ali showcasing his levels of immaturity at the Wagah Border.

The 24-year-old cricketer crossed all limits of taunting when he rushed to the gate at the Wagah-Attari border and exhibited his iconic ‘bomb-explosion’ celebration in his bid to mock the Indian soldiers.

The disgraceful act took place when Ali visited the border with his teammates to attend the ‘Beating Retreat’ ceremony. The cricketer is known to celebrate a fall of a wicket in his unique style which imitates a bomb explosion.

As the foot soldiers on both sides began lowering the flags, Ali stormed near the Pakistani gate and pulled off his on-field move. He followed it up with a pat on his thigh and raising his arms as the rangers looked on.

The unexpected step from the right-hand pacer who ran riot at the ICC Champions Trophy last year picked up massive cheers from his countrymen while the Indians showed their utter disgust.

While Hasan Ali laughed it off the Twitterati were quick to blast the cricketer for the disgraceful act.

Surely not this way

On point

Disrespectful to the core

No less than a cartoon

Making a fool out of himself

Roger that

Rightly said

Pointing out the difference

Not an act to be proud of

He has an advice

Rightfully said

Shameful, to be honest

On the other hand, top order batsman Azhar Ali who was also a part of the team visiting the ceremony took to Twitter to share a picture of himself with soldiers from both the nations.

He went on to pair the tweet with a strong message ”peace is the way forward”.

The contrasting acts from these cricketers highlight the paramount importance of morals and ethics, as sportsperson.
