Being deeply and madly in love with someone might sound romantic and cute but when the pyaar ka bukhaar gets into people’s minds, it becomes fatal. You might think all this happens only in Bollywood movies. Hint: the romantic psychological thriller movie ‘Darr’. But, that isn’t always the case.
Recently, a man hailing from Haryana allegedly attempted to kill a woman after she denied marrying him.
According to The Indian Express, the accused identified as Karan (23), a resident of Haryana’s Sonipat, met the woman on TikTok 10 months ago. But when a couple of months later the victim discovered that Karan was married and has two children, she started cutting ties with him.
“He came in contact with the victim through TikTok 10 months ago. He is married and has two children, but he did not tell her. Three months ago, when she came to know he was married, she started ignoring him. Her family, meanwhile, was looking to get her married,” said an investigating officer.
The officer further added that Karan didn’t want her to marry someone else, hence he decided to kill her.
“He had stolen a bike from Mohan Garden area and fixed a fake number plate to it. He procured a country-made pistol and ammunition from Praveen (Karan’s friend from Panipat). On Friday, the duo entered the victim’s house and fired at point-blank range with the intention to kill her and fled.”
The cops were notified about the incident after it happened on Friday at the woman’s home in Mohan Garden. “On Friday, police received information that a woman has been shot at by a man she had refused to marry. The woman, who sustained injuries to her stomach, is undergoing treatment in a hospital,” a senior police officer said.
“On Saturday, police got a tip-off and laid a trap at Goyla Dairy road, near Shyam Kunj Colony, Goyla village, and apprehended both the accused,” DCP (Dwarka) Santosh Kumar Meena added.
The accused have reportedly confessed to the crime. This is probably the most bizarre and frightful love story I have heard to date.
