Haryana Girl Stays In Ukraine To Care For 3 Kids After Their Dad Joins Army To Fight Russia

In the face of falling missiles and raining gunshots, Ukrainians have shown great valor by not fleeing and picking up arms to protect their land. And among those going through this distressing Russian-Ukraine conflict were close to 20,000 Indians who were trapped in Ukraine and pleaded to the Indian government to rescue them.

However, amid these testing times, an MBBS student from India’s Haryana has shown compassion towards her friends in Ukraine and has decided to stay back despite having an opportunity to return to India.

Taking to Facebook, Savita Jakhar, a close friend of this student’s mother, shared how she was touched by the selfless deed of this girl identified as Neha. Neha denied coming back home because she wanted to take care of the three kids whose father joined the troops to fight Russian invaders.

Elaborating on it, Jakhar wrote in Hindi that her very close friend’s 17-year-old daughter is trapped in Kyiv who went there for a bachelor’s degree.

“There was no space in the hostel, so she used to rent a room with a lovely family with three children. The day before yesterday, the father of the children joined the army, the mother is in a bunker with three children. My friend’s daughter is also with them. My friend tried to get her out of the Embassy by contacting her with great difficulty, but the girl refuses to come back leaving the three children and their mother alone in such a difficult time. Despite the mother’s pleas, the girl is adamant about staying there till the end of the war.”

Jakhar was touched by her gesture and questioned, “What is encouraging that child to stand with that family in such difficult times?”

“She knows that in such a situation her life can also be lost but she cares more about the lives of those three little children than her own. She is more concerned about the mother who is alone with her children there than her own mother.”

According to Tribune India, Savita, also from Haryana, is now a French national presently based in Copenhagen, Denmark.

This is how people reacted to Neha’s noble gesture:

Neha reportedly lost her father, who was in the Indian Army, a couple of years ago. Probably this is where she gets her courage from. Such a brave girl.
