It hasn’t very been long since the entire world saw and cringed at the skeletons that surfaced from the closet of Harvey Weinstein, the infamous media mogul who exploited and harassed women for years. I remember every other day flashed stories about his history of sexual abuse and how he had gotten away with almost everything.
First, Angelina Jolie and Gwyneth Paltrow shared how they were wronged at the hands of the sexual predator, then Leana Headey and Salma Hayek revealed how ‘monster Weinstein’ took advantage of them. And a few more from Hollywood who came out and voiced their ordeal.
As soul-shattering as it was, the entire outrage on the hindsight, gave rise to the powerful #MeToo movement, giving a platform to innumerable women who were afraid to voice their story of assault.
In the aftermath, it also paved the way for the recent #TimeIsUp initiative that has women from all walks of life, united in solidarity for the cause. In case you missed it, Oprah Winfrey was the first to say it out loud at the Golden Globes and I can still hear the echoes!
In fact, I guess, I’m not the only one.
I say that because a new piece of information has come to the fore and you’d want to see it.
According to TMZ, Harvey Weinstein was slapped by a man at a Paradise Valley restaurant in Arizona who was heard saying…
“You’re such a piece of shit for what you did to these women.”
Reportedly, Weinstein was at Elements restaurant when a guy named Steve approached him and asked for a photo. Apparently, Weinstein denied and when he got up to leave after dinner, Steve asked his friend to start recording.
Weinstein is in Arizona as part of his rehab programme.
