Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor Says He Can’t Afford A New Lamborghini, Gets Trolled For His ‘Struggle’

Time and again, people have made several tone-deaf comments and romanticized things such as ‘poverty’ to beat their own drum. Earlier, a woman from an influential family said she ‘struggled in taxi’ and bought a Mercedes.

This time it’s Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor’s son Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor who is being sarcastically trolled online for saying he has to buy his own things because his parents don’t spoil him with money, contrary to popular perception.

The ‘Thar’ actor said, “I hate to break it to the audience, but the reality is that my parents have no interest in paying for my sh*t,” The Indian Express quoted him saying.

“So, I wish you all were right and I was wrong. I would have had ten times more than what I have but I buy my own stuff. It’s the sad reality of my life. Otherwise, you don’t think I would have had five cars as opposed to just one. You don’t think I would have had 30 watches. It doesn’t work like that.”

Additionally, he said that he was planning to buy a pre-owned Lamborghini for Rs 1 crore instead of a new one for Rs 3 crore. While his parents won’t pay for his daily expenses, they would definitely chip in occasionally.

“I mean my parents will buy me a gift every once in a while. If there’s a bill that I don’t really have the capacity to pay at a certain moment in time, I’m sure they will be there. But that’s an occasional call.”

Young Kapoor also admitted the choices of films he does do not enable him to sustain a luxurious lifestyle. However, if he gets into mainstream film, he would afford it, reported Outlook.

“Want to do arthouse films but want to buy Lamborghini also, it’s tough. If I was doing maybe some more mainstream stuff, I would have had it. I’d rather be proud of the work (I’ve done).”

People online thought his statement was tone-deaf and trolled him for not being able to afford a car costing Rs 3 crores.

The amount of sarcasm I see in the trolling is appalling. Samajh nhi aaraha empathise kar rahey hai ya tareef.
