In a few weeks from now, we’ll be sitting in the theatre and watching the end of an era in ‘Avengers: Endgame‘. And there’s no doubt that thousands of people have made the MCU what it is right now. However, none of this (and I mean it very literally) would have been possible without Robert Downey Jr.
When superhero movies were going for dark and gritty, Downey Jr gave the world a mix of fun, flawed, cynical and charming in the form of Tony Stark/Iron Man. Off-screen, he nurtured every cast member like a friend and treated his fans like family. And on his 54th birthday, he’s reaping the fruits of his labour and love.
The Avengers and other members of the Marvel family took to social media to greet the Godfather of the MCU, Robert Downey Jr., a happy birthday.

It has been incredible to watch Robert’s journey in the MCU not just because of his performance, but also because of his synonymity with the character of Tony Stark. And it will be tough for us to say goodbye to him when he decides to shelve the red and gold suit. But since a part of the journey is the end, we’ve to face it while being thankful to him for all the memorable moments he has given us as Iron Man.
