Ace fashion designer Tarun Tahiliani designed the 2024 Paris Olympics opening ceremony uniforms for Indian athletes and they were a huge disappointment. Many people called the outfits “boring”, “tacky” and “a disappointing affair”, stressing how our athletes deserved better. And it is true, our athletes truly deserved better, and so did Indian craftsmanship.
Hence, a guy named Jayesh Sachdev, who is an artist and a designer, took the help of AI to reimagine alternative uniforms that could have been made for the 2024 Paris Olympics opening ceremony.
For male athletes, this is what he came up with:
For female athletes, he came up with something similar and to be honest, these tri-colour embroidered jackets are out of this world.
This blend of traditional and modern, keeping in mind comfort and at the same time putting the spotlight on Indian design, is just exquisite.

Several people thought that this guy, with the help of AI, did a far better job than what Tarun Tahiliani did. Have a look at what some people said:

Combining western sportswear with Indian handmade textiles and techniques is the best way to design olympic clothes

This is close to something we would expect from India.
It’s not that we don’t like Saree or Kurtas as outfits, what we don’t like is that there’s absolutely no uniqueness.
A good designer can make the saree look different, and unique. It’s all in your hands.

The best fusion of western wear with indic tradition. I mean just see the embroidery on these clothes.. the problem is tht we have very gud local artisans who r capable enough to design this but people like Tahiliani r just busy in pushing the mediocre version of their work ..
