Many of us have grown up watching women in our family do it all. And we think it is the normal thing to do. Well, it’s not. Women are expected to take care of the house, cook, clean, look after their children, even work all at once while men aren’t. What many forget is that
A) Doing household chores is a basic life skill that everybody should know how to do.
B) Marriage should be an equal partnership.
Having said that, one man made a video of himself explaining why he cooks for his wife, who is a full-time mom, after being asked questions like, “Why are you cooking? Why can’t the mother (his wife) help?”
“While I’m cooking, she is taking care of this one,” he says, showing their child.
“If you don’t know any full-time moms or haven’t been around one, you don’t know how hard of a job it is. It is harder than 80% of any job available in the market or you can think of. And I appreciate my wife for going through that. So I felt like it’s only right to make her some dinner and dessert. That’s the least I can do. I couldn’t even imagine being a full-time mom. So I let her know every day how I am thankful for her.”

And people online were left teary-eyed! While many women lauded the man for being empathetic towards his wife, several men derived inspiration from the video and said that he’s the kind of dad they want to become!
This is so mf beautiful but I really can’t get past the fact that women are so bankrupt in their needs that a video of a man tending to his infant and the mother of said infant is something to be praised because the bare minimum is something you’re lucky to even have now.

I love this. Marriage and parenthood are a partnership, you help and take care of one another, not rely on the one person to do all the work. https://t.co/uxFuPI2ozx

Taking care of a child is hard and it only takes a little empathy to understand it. Instead of expecting women to do it all, it is best to divide the responsibilities equally. Isn’t that how love works?
