Read up, folks, because this here is a very sound argument for why every unknown number text needs to be answered with a “New phone, who dis?”
Twitter user @SznVibes had a rather bad case of ‘messing up’ and he shared it with his Twitter fam! He received a text from an unknown number, which he thought was a girl making some NSFW appointments with him….
Alright then! That sounds rather final, doesn’t it? Well, it wasn’t. Because turns out, the unknown number was someone very, very known to him! His BOSS!
Ooohoo boy! That was bad!
Yes, honey. Yes, you did.
Now see here is where @SznVibes should’ve learnt his lesson. But that didn’t happen.
Instead, he asked his Twitter fam to help him reply to his boss’ text….
Okay I’ve still yet to respond can someone tell me wtf I say to this 😅

Clearly, that was going only one way! Twitter came up with some insanely creative ideas, most of them involving somebody taking his phone and texting instead.
just reply "I am so sorry, I just saw this. My girl must've had my phone and been paranoid as usual. Anyways, sounds good. I'll be there."

“Aw man my cousin is always playing around on my phone sorry about that. See you at 12!”
Or just never respond which means it never happened.

Of course, the ‘lost my phone’ excuse was suggested!

My personal favourite just had to be this one about a ‘side business’!

One user even tried to assure him that he wasn’t at fault here but his boss was.

But mostly, people seemed to agree…

Despite and probably because of the responses he received, our hero decided to make another bad decision and not respond to his boss at all!
Of course, it didn’t go well!
I never responded and she texted me last night and said “I’ll be giving you a call tomorrow to discuss the terms of your employment with us”

Yeah because the only way to solve a problem is to avoid it!

Instead, he decided to just ‘wing it’ and go to work on Friday to see what happens.

@SznVibes Twitter thread went quite viral and people kept asking him for updates and he finally revealed that he no longer had a job!
And that’s when Twitter decided to school the guy on where exactly he went wrong. He could’ve just apologised!
Son all you had to say was "my bad. You should've said who you was in the first message. I'll be there friday" and you would've still have a job

But along came a very awkward revelation from @SznVibes that was quite anti-climatic, if you ask me!

Okay then!
Moral of the story: Just don’t get too cocky when replying to unknown numbers, ‘kay?
