Video Of Sikh Wedding Guests Making A LIT Bhangra Entry Is Taking The Internet By Storm

The rituals and customs of an Anand Karaj (Sikh wedding ceremony) are very different from a Kalyanam (Tamil wedding). Similarly, a Maharashtrian wedding and a Bengali wedding are not alike. But the common thread that is conspicuous in any desi Shaadi, is dancing. Whether it is coordinated Bollywood style dancing at the sangeet, grooving to the dhol during the baraat or drunk dancing to the tunes of the DJ at the cocktail, any celebration is incomplete without it.

And if it is a Sikh wedding, there’s got to be bhangra. Which happened with a twist at the engagement ceremony of Simer and Simmi. Instead of the couple making an entry, the guests made a quite a splash by dancing their hearts out. Twitter user @SinghLions shared a video of the fun bhangra entry.

The video that oozes joy and good cheer quickly amassed 9,200 retweets and 71,000 likes. People all over the world were smiling after seeing it and gave a big thumbs up to their “Sikh moves”.

Netizens loved the energy and the happiness of this entry and wondered what was in store for the couple’s wedding. More bhangra we bet!

Isn’t this a great way to enter a party? We can’t wait to try it out the next time a friend or cousin gets married. Would you do it too?
