Gucci Is Selling A Swimsuit For ₹33,000 But There’s A Catch, You Can’t Swim In It!

Is it just me or has fashion gone insane these days? I swear, its like fashion brands are straight up putting weird shit on the racks to test how far they can push it. Especially jeans. There are jeans with your butt literally hanging out and enjoying the view, inverted jeans to mess with your head and something that is nothing more than few strips of denim on a waistband which they have the nerve to call “extreme cut-out jeans”. I mean, come on!

And don’t even get me started on luxury brands. You really expect people to buy a pair of taped-up dirty looking sneakers for ₹41k? What are these people smoking?

Aren’t clothes something that should fulfil a certain purpose? Apparently not. At least, no according to Gucci. Consider this “swimsuit”.

It looks like a swimsuit. They call it a swimsuit. So it must be a swimsuit, right? Meaning, you should be able to swim in it.

But wait. You can’t. Why?

Because according to the product description:

“Lotion, sunscreen, oil and chlorine can cause discoloration of this item.

To get the best from this item, we advise that you do not wear it to swim.”

Come again? So its a swimsuit you can’t swim in? Why not just call it a bodysuit then?

This item which is priced at approximately ₹33,000 is made of 80% polyamide and 20% elastane and should apparently not come in contact with chlorine.

To add insult to injury, they even claim that “This is not a manufacturing defect.” It was actually designed that way. As a swimsuit that you can’t swim in. Very efficient, isn’t it?

People aren’t very amused by Gucci trying to get away with this:

Like seriously, Gucci! What next? Shoes that shouldn’t come in contact with the floor? *facepalm*
