Films and television serials are not competing with other films and television serials when it comes to TRP. They are competing with news channels, which provide a different kind of entertainment which is just too fun to watch! Instead of watching a movie on OTT, one can grab a bowl of popcorn and switch on to a news channel during prime time. What they’ll get to witness is undefeatable. Here’s an example from Times Now.
The Times Now studio turned into a war zone after two debate panellists – Journalist and former politician Ashutosh and author Anand Ranganathan – clashed against each other.
Ashutosh is an Indian journalist and former politician of the Aam Aadmi Party. He also used to be the spokesperson for AAP and is the co-founder and editorial director of SatyaHindi. Anand Ranganathan, on the other hand, is a scientist and author of three books. Both men are in their 50s. Yet, they decided to channel their inner teenagers as they fought on national television, abusing and threatening each other as anchor Navika Kumar tried to intervene and calm the two of them down.
Have a look at the video here:
Several people online found it hilarious how two grown and educated men behaved so childishly during a debate on national television, tarnishing the integrity and the seriousness that the news channel holds. Here’s what they had to say:
