I had been an active kid all throughout my childhood. When I look back, I don’t remember myself studying as much I remember myself dancing and kho-kho-ing my way to college. However, when the pressure of academia hit me, most of my time was spent sitting inside classes, the library, or in front of the computer – the third being how I spend much of my day nowadays.
What I’m basically trying to say is, after I get up from the bed or from the chair, muscles I never knew existed ache. So, this year, I decided to move around a bit more. And my inspiration is this 62-year-old grandma who, even at this age, flaunts her killer dance moves!
According to Times Now, her name is Ravi Bala Sharma and she is popularly known as ‘Dancing Dadi’.
Here’s a recent video of her dancing to ‘Dola Re Dola’ from the movie ‘Devdas’ and I just can’t keep my eyes off her!
There are several other videos on her Instagram account which are worth a watch. Have a look!
And people online absolutely loved her!
Speaking to NDTV, ‘Dancing Dadi’ shared why she started dancing at old age in the first place. It was after the death of her husband, that she was depressed. To help her battle that difficult stage in her life, her sister and kids pushed her to start dancing again. When her dancing videos hit social media, they went viral instantly. And now, she has over 100K followers on Instagram!
“Age is just a number. Aapki agar age hai toh yeh mat socho ki aap kuch nahi kar sakte. Main 62-years of age mein sabko bolti hoon ki karna chahiye jo aapka passion hai.”
Her videos have been earlier shared by Diljit Dosanjh, Imtiaz Ali, and Terence Lewis.

I hope to be at least half as graceful as a grandma as ‘Dancing Dadi’ is!
