A lot of revelations were made by Govinda in his recent appearance in Rajat Sharma’s Aap Ki Adalat. He opened up about his 10-year-old split with David Dhawan and much more about his Bollywood career. However, one of his claims seemed a little too bizarre to be true!
On the show, Govinda said that he rejected many films which later on became blockbuster hits. He alleged that he was offered films like Taal, Gadar, Devdas, and others but he ended up turning them down because it didn’t suit his classic ‘Govinda’ style.
However, one of such films he claimed to have rejected was James Cameron’s ‘Avatar’ – the 2009 magnum opus which remained the highest-grossing film worldwide for a decade till Avengers: Endgame came along.
This is all of us right now:
He stated that the reason behind him rejecting ‘Avatar’ was because it demanded 410 days of shooting. Oh, and also because he didn’t want to wear body paint.
“I gave the title of the film. It turned out to be a super hit film. I had informed him that the film will do really well. I told him that I feel it will take seven years for him to complete the film. He got angry. When I said so, he asked, ‘How can you be so sure that I won’t be able to make Avatar for seven years?’ I told him that what he was imagining was something almost impossible,” Govinda said.
As soon as clips of him making these claims went viral, the internet broke into a massive meme-fest!
