Gossip Girl Is Making A Comeback With A Brand New Reboot, Here’s The Inside Scoop!

Wakey wakey, Upper East Siders.

We are interrupting scheduled programming to bring you this amazing piece of news that’ll make your usual Thursday morning a whole lot better. The popular TV series ‘Gossip Girl‘ is coming back to our screens in an all-new avatar *cue squeals of joy*. The creators of the original Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage will now be producing. And the former writer and producer Joshua Safran will be the new showrunner.

Tell me more! Will it have the original cast?

It’s been 8 years since the show ended but we still fondly remember Blake Lively (Serena van der Woodsen), Leighton Meester (Blair Waldorf), Penn Badgley (Dan Humphrey), Chace Crawford (Nate Archibald), and Ed Westwick (Chuck Bass). But the reboot is likely to feature a different set of actors. Let’s hope that the makers get some of the originals to do a cameo *fingers crossed*.

Huff Post shares some details about the reboot saying,

“Eight years after the original website went dark, a new generation of New York private school teens are introduced to the social surveillance of Gossip Girl. The prestige series will address just how much social media — and the landscape of New York itself — has changed in the intervening years.”

Sounds exciting. How soon can I see it?

The reboot is a 10-episode series which will be available for viewing on WarnerMedia’s new streaming service HBO Max. No official premiere date has been announced yet but HBO Max is set to be introduced in the spring of 2020.

You know you love me, XOXO Gossip Girl.
