‘Good Morning’ Message On WhatsApp Proves Fatal For Hyderabad Woman, Gets Raped And Robbed

WhatsApp was supposed to be a platform to help you connect with your near and dear ones while sitting thousands of miles away because International calls and messages are expensive. Duh! But then, parents happened and thus started the influx of Good Morning’ messages on the platform. While they are a little annoying, they are pretty harmless, right? Wrong.

A shocking incident has come to light, which will throw you off ‘Good Morning’ messages on the platform forever, at least from unknown people.

The incident happened in Hyderabad where a 34-year-old woman was messaged by the accused identified as 27-year-old P Pawan Kumar, who is a DJ by profession. The woman did not know him and asked him the purpose of sending her the message, after which he apologised.

However, things did not end there and the accused started sending regular ‘Good Morning’ messages to the woman. The two started exchanging messages and became friends. Soon the woman divulged details of her life to the man.

But nothing could have prepared her for the incident that happened.

As reported by Mumbai Mirror, on February 28, 2018, the man took advantage of the situation and forcibly entered the woman’s home. He raped her and robbed her of ₹55,000 along with a pair of gold earrings. The accused further threatened her that if she did not keep quiet, he would reveal everything to her husband.

Fortunately, the woman got over her fear and divulged everything to her husband who then took her to the nearest police station and lodged a complaint against the accused. The Meerpet Police immediately sprung into action and arrested Kumar on Monday. They recovered the pair of gold earrings from him as well.

While chatting with a person on the other side may seem harmless, a little caution and lots of restraint prove to be advantageous in the long run.
