Gita Gopinath, who is the Chief Economist of the IMF (International Monetary Fund) recently took to Twitter to post a video clip from Amitabh Bachchan’s TV quiz show. Read on to know why.
During one of the question rounds of the game show, as Gopinath’s image is displayed on the screen, Big B says, “The economist seen in this image has been the chief economist of which organization since 2019. Her face is so beautiful that no one can relate her to the economy.” Check it out:

After addressing him as “the greatest of all time” and calling herself “a huge fan”, Gopinath mentions how special the praise was for her. To this, the Bollywood actor also tweeted in response to her saying that he meant every word “in utmost earnestness”.

But many Twitter users called his remarks out, deeming it to be ‘sexist’. Have a look:
