Ever since we were little kids, we were taught that we should respect everyone, especially our elders, and take care of them. Religious moral science classes taught us that God resides in everyone, so we shouldn’t judge anyone by their external appearance. However, going by a Mumbai girl’s experience in a local train, these lessons have definitely been forgotten.
While traveling in a Mumbai local, a girl noticed that an old woman wasn’t getting a seat because of her untidy appearance. After managing to get her one, she learnt about her life story, thus showing how judgemental we’ve become.
1. This behaviour is becoming more and more common nowadays.
So she requested all the ladies (who were sitting spreading their legs as much as they can in order to pretend that there is no space even for an ant!) to shift a bit so that she can manage to sit.

2. There goes all the moral science lessons out of the window.
this old female would get a seat! After having a few mins of 'unhealthy discussion', they agreed to shift. But gave very disgusting look to the lady. And asked me to let her sit beside me because they did not want to sit next to an untidy person!

3. People are viewing the world through a keyhole.
The lady just smiled and said "I never feel bad about it. Because their comments are limited only upto this journey of 1 hour. Their perception cant make any difference to my 65 yrs of journey and to the rest of it! It is not their fault that

4. You can never know a person if you don’t talk with them.
They dont know that the lady they are finding ugly today, was a part time model in her young days! They dont know that the lady they are finding weak, is so strong that even after losing her husband and their only daughter, she moved on in life with joy!

5. She’s a hero and people weren’t giving her a seat.
so that they won't become like one of these people when they will grow up!"
😊 such a tight slap to all those who judge a book by its cover 😊

6. Bless both of them because they’re simply awesome.
Before we parted our ways, she recognised the question in my eyes, and said, "Ivy is one type of a plant. You did not learn it in your school days?"

Of course there were some naysayers who claimed that this story was probably fake or she was making it up. But a relative of Ivy responded to this viral story and shut them up.

Ivy’s life is truly heartbreaking and inspiring. We should all strive to be as strong as her.
In the face of overwhelming darkness, this thread brought some positivity among netizens and they lauded the girl and Ivy for their humanity.
1. We truly needed this.
All I want to say is thank you. Thank you very much for sharing this. 😌❤

3. We should learn how to live from Ivy.
Thank you and bless you for this thread. In these dark times of hate and violence, you have shown how each of us can spread a little light and joy around us. Kudos to Ivy's spirit and hope I am half as courageous and wise at her age.

Most of us live till we’re 75-80yrs old. However, we spend most of that time judging others as if we’ve some kind of higher knowledge. There are billions of people on this Earth and an equal number of inspiring stories just floating around. So, instead of being judgemental, we should reach out, help them and learn something to make ourselves a better person than we were a second ago.
