While In India, German Blogger Abuses Street Hawkers Selling Their Products, Gets Schooled

Flying across the ocean to explore the different cultures and traditions of other nations is a fascinating experience. But when in another land, we must always respect their people and the culture that makes them so unique, right?

Recently, a travel blogger from Germany named Christian Betzmann came down to India to explore the beauty and diversity of the country.

However, during his stay in one of the cities, he was annoyed by the hawkers who roam from street to street selling their products to earn their living.

Taking to his Instagram stories, Betzmann posted a rant video bad-mouthing the hawkers calling people to buy their products.

Showing the two street vendors near his Airbnb, he can be seen saying in the video:

“Like you take your pineapples and go out in the market and sell it like every other person here in India. But the audacity to drive through a f****** street and scream to buy their freaking fruit, bro.”

The user who posted this video on Reddit slammed the German influencer for abusing the hawkers. The user wrote:

“I am aware the hawkers can be annoying but let’s not forget they also make it convenient for people who cannot go all the way to markets for reasons best known to them. Some things are best left off social media. Especially with that language. Let’s go to India for billion views and curse at the same time.”

Not just this person, but several people on Reddit were annoyed by Betzmann’s rant and slammed him left, right and center.

Desis were so mad at him that they even looked up his Instagram profile, went to his first pinned post, and vent out their anger.

His rant does come across as insulting to these hardworking people who roam across the entire city, selling their products, to earn a living. If he was so disturbed, he could have simply walked up to them and told them to lower their pitch and I’m sure they would have obliged.
