Meet Ronnie & Reggie London Zoo’s Gay Penguin Couple, Their Love Story Will Melt Your Heart!

Love is free from the limitations of caste, color and gender! And the world has already started accepting the fact that love between two people from the same gender is nothing but the new normal.

Accordingly, the entire world is celebrating the pride month which glorifies same-sex relationships to eliminate the taboo associated with it. But the ZSL Zoo in London has come up with an efficient and innovative to celebrate the pride month. They have decided to make a complete ‘pride makeover’ on the Zoo Night event this month to honor their ‘gay penguins’.

For those who don’t know, a penguin which is considered to be one of the most social and expressive animals also indulges in a same-sex relationship. They dance and play together to express their love for another penguin of their clan.

In the event scheduled to be held on July 5, the zoo will throw light on gender, mating, and same-sex animal pairing and try to bust the myths around homosexuality both in animals and humans. The event will also honor the famous gay penguin couple in the zoo, Humboldt penguins Ronnie and Reggie.

According to a press release issued by the zoo, “Ronnie and Reggie met in 2014 and a year into their relationship, adopted an egg that had been abandoned by another penguin couple. Not only did they adopt the egg, the zoo staff also noticed that they divided the parenting responsibilities of raising their baby Kyton till it was grown up enough to leave the nest.”

Kyton grew up and left his parents but the bond between Ronnie and Reggie is still going strong claim the zoo authorities. They have also made a special banner celebrating the pride month for the gay penguin couple.
