Gay Boy Writes Santa A Letter, Asks If God Loves Him, Twitter Reacts

People who do not identify with binary labels that society has set for us are often stigmatized and isolated. Several non-conforming people from the LGBTQ+ community have grown up feeling unloved with no sense of belonging. Oftentimes, they are rejected by their own loved ones.

A similar kind of pain was apparent in one kid’s letter to Santa. With Christmas around the corner, kids across the globe are wishing for Santa to bring them their favourite toy, However, a child named Will, who says he’s gay, only wants one gift – to know if God loves and supports queer people like him, reports The Indian Express.

“Dear Santa, do you support the LGBTQ community and if you can speak to God, can you tell him I love him, and if he loves me for being gay,” the letter read.

A Twitter user found his letter from The United States Postal Service Operation Santa website, and she said that it broke her heart. Have a look:

People online were left teary-eyed too. Many said that it is the parents’ responsibility to make their kids feel loved, despite whichever label they choose to identify with. Many slammed the conservative society for making lives difficult for children.

No one should ever feel like they are unloved because they identify outside prescribes social labels. If they do, then we have failed as a society.
