Gautam Gambhir Wins Hearts By Donning A Saree & A Bindi In A Tribute To Transgenders

Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir will always be hailed as the hero of the World Cup finals in 2011, who fetched India its second trophy at the biggest stage in the sport. Apart from his exceptional abilities as a cricketer, the man is also known for standing up for what is right. From taking a stand on social issues to raising his voice against injustice, the Delhi-born gentleman never fails to steal our heart.

And guess what? Gambhir just gave us another reason to love him, with a brilliant gesture towards the transgenders.

The left-handed genius recently attended the seventh edition of Hijra Habba in New Delhi. However, it wasn’t a normal one. What made his appearance unique is that he donned a similar look as the transgenders in a stunning tribute to the group.

In case you have missed it, the Supreme Court of India ruled out the Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code stating that homosexuality is not a crime anymore, earlier this month. The historic judgment was given on the 6th of September 2018.

The cricketer was spotted wearing a black saree and a bindi to pull off the look. The event which was hosted at a Delhi Mall was organised by the HIV/AIDS Alliance India. The theme for this year was ‘Born This Way’.
