Game of Thrones might have come to an end but there’s a lot in store for loyal fans. Previously, George R.R. Martin had announced that 4 GOT spinoffs are underway and that excited the bejesus out of us! And the first spinoff has already started filming!
Prequel for Game of Thrones, called ‘Bloodmoon’, has started filming in Northern Ireland. According to sources, pictures of the sets have already started surfacing online and we cannot keep calm! Two Twitter accounts have been releasing these photos and it is speculated that the accounts belong to people close to the production team.

Here’s all we know about Bloodmoon till now. HBO’s official website revealed that Bloodmoon is completely unrelated to the world of Game of Thrones. It is set thousands of years before the events of A Song Of Ice And Fire.
“The series chronicles the world’s descent from the Golden Age of Heroes into its darkest hour. From the horrifying secrets of Westeros’s history to the true origin of the White Walkers, the mysteries of the East to the Starks of legend, only one thing is for sure: It’s not the story we think we know.”
Another report revealed how the period chronicled is named for “the men and women who lived in the years of peace following the signing of a pact between the First Man and the Children of the Forest.”
Among the above mentioned ‘heroes’ will be Bran the Builder who built the Wall, Winterfell, and founded House Stark, and Lann the Clever, who took Casterly Rock from the Casterlys and begun House Lannister.
The Age of the Heroes was nearly 8,000 years before Aegon Targaryen’s conquest of Westeros. It is speculated that the period experienced The Long Night – winter that lasted for generations. So maybe we could see some White Walkers as well!
The prequel is written by George R.R. Martin alongside Jane Goldman, the writer behind films such as X-Men: First Class, Kick-Ass and the Kingsman movies.
